
JACKSON, Tenn.-(UT Extension)--The University of Tennessee encouraged Mid-South cotton grower to attend its Cotton Field Day on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at the West Tennessee AgResearch and Education Center in Jackson, Tenn.
The Cotton Tour offers nine educational presentations designed to improve cotton production for the region's farmers.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. at the main parking lot, with field tours starting at 8:30. The event concludes at noon.
Presentations will focus on several issues currently facing cotton producers including the following:
* GLYTOL + Liberty Link Weed Management
* WideStrike and Liberty Link Variety Tolerance to Applications of Ignite
* Plant bugs, Bollworms and Spider Mites
* Deficit Irrigation and Monitoring Techniques
* New Varieties and Planting Dates
* Glyphosate Resistant Weed Management
* Nitrogen Fertilization of Contemporary Cotton Varieties
* Seed Treatment Control of Thrips
* Cotton Defoliation Programs
All sessions will be led by UT experts. Pesticide CEU's and CCA points are available.
